Our paths first crossed at Buda Bar in Buenos Aires during a warm spring evening. What started as casual conversation over cocktails quickly revealed a connection that transcended borders and languages.
Three weeks later, we met for our official first date in the heart of Buenos Aires. What was meant to be dinner became an entire weekend exploring the city, discovering we shared the same dreams and ambitions.
In March 2020, three days after Hélène came back from visiting Luis in New York, Italy announced they were closing their borders. The rest of the world followed. Defying all odds, Luis flew to Serbia before his US visa expired, hoping to enter Europe from there. And it worked. We were reunited in Rome in July, and after spending the summer in France we moved together to London to study.
With Luis in Colombia and then in the US, and Hélène in France and then Singapore, we built our relationship across continents. From trips to Thailand to Parisian weekends, we turned the world into our playground, creating memories in every city we visited together.
During a romantic trip to Sicily, Luis proposed at sunset in Taormina overlooking the Etna volcano. It was then we knew that Italy, where our future together truly began, would be where we celebrate our union.

You can rent cars and drive in Rome. You will need to create an account with a European driver's license at least 2 weeks before arriving. Note that parking can be hard to find in Rome, and some areas are not covered by the services.
Rome weather in June is very warm and sunny. The average temperature range from 20°C to 29°C.
We recommend you carry a bottle of water with you that you can fill at the "nasoni", the little water fountains that are everywhere in the city.
The city centre is great to visit walking but be mindful that most of the streets are cobblestones so avoid wearing stiletto heels and choose something comfortable to walk with.
Please know that your presence on our special day is the greatest present of all! However, if you do wish to celebrate with a gift, a contribution to our honeymoon fund would be warmly appreciated: (insert link)
We recommend booking your plane tickets and accommodation as early as possible. Hotels and Airbnb go quite fast in June, so 4-6 months in advance is best.
